Parker Center for Plastic Surgery Offering Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation with Dedicated Nurse Injector

Dr. Paul M. Parker of the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery is now offering New Jersey plastic surgery patients non-surgical facial rejuvenation by a dedicated nurse injector, Angela Parisi, R.N.

Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) August 14, 2012 — Angela Parisi, R.N, has worked with New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul M. Parker for 20 years and has been an R.N. for 26 years. She is well known by his surgical patients as the nurse coordinator. She guides each individual patient through the entire surgical experience beginning with preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery. Having received additional training, Angela will now be adding the title Nurse Injector to her role.

“I’m pleased that Angela will be handling our patients who are interested in non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Angela has an excellent rapport with our patients. I’m sure that her past experience with BOTOX and her recent training with Restylane, Perlane, and Dysport, we will be offering our patients the most effective non-surgical solutions,” said Dr. Parker.

While BOTOX continues to be the most popular injectable on the market, the use of Dysport has grown rapidly. Both are derivatives of boxulinum toxin. Even though BOTOX has been around longer and has the brand recognition, Dysport has become increasingly popular with doctors and patients. Wrinkles are notoriously difficult to treat with surgery, and crow’s feet are the most difficult. In the past BOTOX was really the only way to treat these fine lines around the eye. In a recent study conducted by the Maas Clinic in San Francisco and the University of San Francisco, Dysport was found to perform better than BOTOX according to 67% of the participants.

“What I love most about my job is the relationships I build with our patients. It’s great that you can use an injectable to ‘test’ out a look prior to having surgery, to see if you like it. There are many patients who just can’t afford the downtime involved in surgery or are fearful of surgery. If they have a big event coming up, like a family wedding, they can use injectables to get a little ‘lift’ in specific areas; it can make a dramatic difference in your appearance,” explained Angela.

According to the ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) over 1.4 million people had facial fillers injected in 2011. Facial fillers like Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane are safe because they are made of natural materials (hyaluronic acid) and are reabsorbed by the body after 3-6 months. Facial fillers plump up the skin and fill wrinkles and depressions in the face. They make you look younger instantly with no downtime and at a considerably lower cost.

The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery has had Angela trained by Dr. Parker and other physicians from ASAPS as well as physician trainers from the Medicis, the products’ manufacturer. Angela has been doing BOTOX injections for the past year and has been working with filler patients weekly.

“I believe that fillers are a great first step for someone who’s too young to consider plastic surgery but would like to get rid of those small lines and maintain a youthful appearance. For our older patients, fillers can be used independently with no downtime or in conjunction with surgery to achieve maximum results,” said Angela.

While BOTOX is the most commonly performed non-invasive cosmetic procedure in the U.S., the newcomer Dysport has many advantages. First, it is less expensive; although it is less concentrated, so more of the product may be required. Secondly, patients report that results are achieved more quickly with Dysport, and, lastly, many patients who have been using BOTOX find its effectiveness can decrease over time. Alternating treatment with Dysport can help achieve the desired result. For residents living in New Jersey, plastic surgery is not your only option for a younger, fresher appearance.

“Injectables have come a long way in the past few years, and they will continue to improve.” Dr. Parker stated.

Dr. Parker along with his staff at the Parker Center and Parker Center Medi-Spa, a New Jersey day spa at the Parker Center, are all dedicated to providing the highest level of care, the safest environment and facilities, and the most professional staff to give patients optimal beauty.

Dr. Paul M. Parker is the medical director of both the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery and the Parker Center Medi-Spa.
