Parker Center for Plastic Surgery Releases New Information for Patient Education
The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery has released several new pages on their website in order to improve patient education, increase patient awareness of new techniques, and provide more details of procedures used in facial plastic surgery.
(PRWEB) March 29, 2013 – Dr. Paul M. Parker, Medical Director of the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery, has always taken the time to write all of the on-site content for the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery’s website. Most recently Dr. Parker has updated the facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), neck lift and facial filler pages of the website.
Many plastic surgeon websites just give a brief biography of the doctor with listings of services available. Through experience, plastic surgeon Dr. Parker has learned that his patients spend a lot of time on the Internet researching the different procedures long before they ever have a consultation. Dr. Parker believes that by providing more detailed information on his website, he can assist people in getting accurate and truthful information from a board certified surgeon.
“I write the webpages, not because I’m a talented writer but because I believe that I can be more accurate, precise, and timely with the details of the procedures. I’m closer to the subject matter than anyone else would be. I speak with patients every day and answer their questions. I’m also closer to new developments in the field, some of which may be published in the mainstream media, but most of it is not. I keep myself up to date by reading our peer reviewed journals, attending plastic surgery meetings and discussing newer techniques frequently with my friends and colleagues,” explained Dr. Parker.
The facelift page on the site is an excellent example of Dr. Parker’s dedication to education and current information. The page explains the details of the face lift procedure, what it can and cannot do for a patient, and what alternatives are available. It even provides information on what changes occur with the aging process. Additionally, new techniques, such as the bi-planer facelifts, are described in great detail for potential patients. The new facelift technique not only pulls the skin but lifts and supports the underlying tissue to increase facial volume, giving a more natural and longer lasting result.
For more than twenty years, Dr. Paul M. Parker has run the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery with a three-pronged philosophy of patient education, state of the art surgical techniques, and caring staff members to provide a safe and comfortable environment for his patients.
“Patients who are fully educated about their plastic surgery procedures are generally happier with the results. Since they have a full understanding of the surgery, they tend to be less anxious about it. They also feel more secure having the knowledge of what their recovery will be like. Experience has taught us that by giving our patient’s as much information as we can, they will be more satisfied with their results,” said Dr. Parker.
Other pages across the site, such as the eyelid rejuvenation, neck contouring, and facial fillers, are consistently revamped with new information. For example, facial fillers have come a long way in the past few years, and Dr. Parker has added a page that explains several of the products available as non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation.
Keeping our website content user friendly, current, and informative is our goal. Our website is an extension of our practice. We encourage people to use the website to learn about plastic surgery and their options. When they then visit for a consultation, they are typically quite knowledgeable about their procedures, allowing us to have a “higher level” discussion. In the end, they are more confident and informed about their decision making. The feedback we receive from our patients regarding the educational value of our website has been extremely positive,” plastic surgeon, Dr. Parker said.
Patient education, state of the art surgical techniques, and patient safety and care combine to make the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery a premier facility for cosmetic surgery. For many potential patients, their plastic surgery journey begins online, and Dr. Parker believes accurate and in-depth information is pertinent to a patient’s satisfaction and overall experience.
Dr. Paul M. Parker is the medical director of both the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery and Beaura Spa.
