We are pleased to announce that our very own Dr. Paul Parker, a board-certified plastic surgeon serving New Jersey and member of The Aesthetic Society (formerly ASAPS), was called upon to release his statistics to help determine the top cosmetic surgery procedures of 2008.
Top 3 Cosmetic Surgery Procedures
According to the results of the study, breast augmentation, liposuction, and eyelid surgery ranked among the top 3 plastic surgery procedures performed last year, with over 10 million surgical and nonsurgical procedures preformed across the country for 2008.
And while the study also reports a 12 percent decrease in cosmetic surgery procedures between 2007 and 2008, our practice actually experienced a 5 percent increase during this exact same time frame!
This increase (despite an overall industry decline) is a reflection to us that our clients are happy and satisfied with the care and services put forth by our practice– enough to earn their loyalty in a down economy.
With regard to the actual study, Dr. Parker was among an elite group of plastic surgeons in the state and across the United States called upon to release their personal statistics to complete the study. This is the 12th such survey produced by The Aesthetic Society, which has been the world’s leading organization for cosmetic surgery research and education since its founding in 1967.
The study also determined that women had 92 percent of all cosmetic procedures last year totaling 9.3 million with men undergoing 800,000 procedures at 8 percent.
