Liposuction Before & After Case 778

This 32 year old, referred by some co-workers, requested from Dr. Parker improvement in her body contour. When younger, she had been a gymnast and in great shape. In recent years, she developed a thyroid condition which caused her to gain weight and lose her more youthful figure despite working out regularly. The patient was 5 feet tall and weighed 168 pounds. Dr. Parker spent a great deal of time with the patient during her consultation stressing that liposuction itself is not a method of weight loss. He indicated that in this case liposuction could be done to de-bulk the areas of fullness and hopefully jump start the patient to lose further weight. A secondary procedure for finer body contouring might be desired by the patient after weight loss in the future. Using VASER liposuction, Dr. Parker removed the following amounts of fat:

• Abdomen: 1025 cc


• Hips: right – 1050 cc, left – 1025 cc


• Back: right -750 cc, left – 625 cc


• Inner thigh: right – 475 cc. left – 375 cc


• Anterior thigh: right – 575 cc, left – 525 cc


• Lateral thigh: 625 cc each side


• Arms: right – 350 cc, left – 250 cc


• Knees: 75 cc each side

In total, Dr. Parker removed 8425 cc of fat from the patient. Because of this and the length of the procedure, the patient was monitored overnight in the Parker Center’s ambulatory surgical facility. The patient enjoyed a smooth and quick recovery. She was back at work 9 days after her procedure. As her new shape unfolded, the patient was more motivated than ever to work our more rigorously and watch her diet. She lost 30 pounds in the first few months after surgery and her dress size dropped from 14 to 8. She is thrilled with her results and her experience at the Parker Center.
