Tummy Tuck Before & After Case 1400

This 50 year old patient requested Dr. Parker to improve the appearance of her abdomen after the abdominoplasty she had performed elsewhere 13 years ago. The patient stated, her upper abdomen was too full, irregular in its contour, loose skin in her lower abdomen and a high-riding abdominoplasty scar. The patient is 5’5” tall and weighs 123 pounds. Dr. Parker explained during the consultation, that secondary tummy tucks, like other secondary procedures, are more complicated than a first-time tummy tuck. Because the anatomy is altered by the initial procedure, results could be more limited. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed SAFE liposuction to reduce the fullness in the upper abdomen and smooth it, appropriately tightened her loose rectus abdominus muscles (“diastasis recti”), removed her excess skin, lowered the abdominoplasty incision and carefully closed it with multiple layers of absorbable sutures to give an excellent scar. The patient was very pleased with her recovery as well as the markedly improved appearance of her abdomen and scar.
