Case Details
This 29 year old asked Dr Parker to improve upon her breast asymmetry which has been present since her breasts developed. This asymmetry has not changed with weight gain, loss or pregnancy. She would like her right breast fuller and uplifted, her left breast to match as closely as possible. The patient is 5’6″ tall, weighs 172 pounds, is a 36 B cup on the right side and D cup on the left. Dr Parker discussed options with the patient explaining her procedure was challenging and perfect symmetry unlikely. They agreed upon and he subsequently performed the following procedure: Dr Parker inserted a 350 cc silicone implant in the right breast and performed a circumvertical mastopexy, or breast lift. On the left side, he first removed 120 grams of tissue from the lower aspect of the breast, next inserted sizer implants and, even though the patient was under general anesthesia, sat the patient upright on the OR table. As he exchanged various sizer implants, Dr Parker found a 250 cc silicone implant provided the closest match to the right side; with this knowledge, he then inserted a 250 cc permanent silicone implant in this side. Lastly, Dr Parker performed a lollipop lift, or vertical mastopexy on the left breast to lift and match the right breast as closely as possible. The patient recovered quickly from the procedure. She is very happy with the markedly improved symmetry of her now fuller and uplifted breasts. The patient feels much more self confident and is so happy to be able to show some cleavage which she could not previously.
