Breast Implant Removal Before & After Case 1216

This 54 year old patient had silicone implants inserted 10 years earlier. She came to Dr. Parker requesting removal of the implants. Though the patient had not had any problems with the implants, per se, she had developed some ill defined symptoms and wanted her implants removed. A work up by a rheumatologist was negative for any specific illness. The patient is 5’8” tall and weighs 135 pounds. Dr. Parker discussed treatment options with the patient. She opted to have the implants and surrounding capsules removed through inframammary incisions. The patient did not want any adjunctive procedures such as a breast lift or fat injections carried out. Dr. Parker subsequently performed the explantation procedure as requested. The patient recovered well, says she feels better and is happy having removed her implants.
