Breast Implant Revision Before & After Case 1241
Before & After
Case Details
This 36 year old requested Dr Parker to improve the appearance of her breasts and abdomen. She has had one child, prior breast augmentation and liposuction of her abdomen performed elsewhere several years ago. She is 5’2” tall, weighs 123 pounds and says her weight is stable. She had 325 cc textured implants inserted in a subglandular position through peri areolar incisions and has developed painful capsular contracture on both sides. At the same time, she had prior liposuction of her abdomen; she is very distressed about the very irregular contour she now has. During the patient’s consultation, Dr Parker explained her situation is complicated.
He discussed removal of her subglandular capsules, re positioning her implants into partial submuscular pockets, implant exchange and adding acellular dermal matrix (ADM) as a protective cover over the implants to minimize the risk of recurrent capsular contracture. Regarding her abdomen, he recommended a lipoabdominoplasty to remove the uneven fat and skin as well as to improve the overall contour. The patient was in agreement with this plan which was subsequently carried out. At surgery, her 325 cc subglandular implants and capsules were removed, 400 cc partial submuscular implants inserted and covered with ADM. A lipoabdominoplasty was performed. The patient recovered well and is very happy with the markedly improved appearance of her breasts and abdomen.
