Breast Implant Revision Before & After Case 1324
Before & After
Case Details
This 59 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient requesting improvement in the appearance of her breasts. She had undergone the insertion of silicone implant (size unknown) 32 years ago. Recent testing with a mammogram and MRI showed bilateral intracapsular implant ruptures. The patient requested downsizing her implants to make her breasts smaller as well as lifting her breasts into a more youthful position. Dr. Parker determined the patient had bilateral capsular contractures on physical examination. He explained that it would be wise to insert Acellular Dermal Matrix (also known as ADM) at the time of surgery to help prevent against recurrent capsular contractures and prolong the longevity of her results. At surgery, Dr. Parker removed the 250 cc ruptured silicone implants as well as performed complete capsulectomies. He inserted 200 cc silicone implants into a dual plane pocket and sutured the ADM in place in both breasts. He then performed a vertical mastopexy or “lollipop lift” on both sides. The patient was very pleased with the ease of her recovery. She loves the improved look of her breasts as well as how soft and natural they feel.
