Breast Implant Revision Before & After Case 585
Before & After
Case Details
This 28 year old developed capsular contracture of her left breast two years after silicone breast augmentation performed by another plastic surgeon. The patient also wished to increase the size of her implants. Dr. Parker discussed options with the patient during her consultation. He explained because her capsular contracture had occurred on one side (and for the first time), he could treat this with a relatively high degree of success by performing a capsulectomy and inserting a new implant. If this were a recurrent capsular contracture or had occurred in both breasts, he would want to insert acellular dermal matrix (ADM). The patient was in agreement with this plan. At surgery, Dr. Parker removed the contracted, hardened capsule on the left side along with 375 cc implants from both breasts. He inserted 475 cc silicone implants in somewhat expanded pockets in both breasts. The patient enjoyed a very quick, pain-free recovery. She loves the markedly improved shape of her left breast and is very pleased with the larger size of both breasts as well.
