Breast Implant Revision Before & After Case 610
Before & After
Case Details
This 54 year old existing patient of Dr Parker asked him to improve her breasts. She had undergone partial submuscular 600 cc saline breast augmentation 2 years earlier by another plastic surgeon through inframammary incisions. One year ago, she developed capsular contracture on the right breast which was treated by capsulectomy and implant replacement by that same surgeon. In recent months, the right breast had again become hard and very painful. The patient is 5’2″ tall and weighs 120 pounds. Dr Parker explained that since she had already failed her first treatment of capsular contracture, he would need to be more aggressive with this procedure. By this he meant, he would again perform a capsulectomy, insert a new implant as well as acellular dermal matrix (ADM) to reduce the chance of recurrent capsular contracture. Dr Parker subsequently performed this procedure, removing both saline implants, inserting 600 cc high profile silicone implants, as requested by the patient and inserting ADM into both breasts. The patient recovered quickly afterwards and is very happy with the appearance and feel of her natural looking, soft breasts.
