Eyelid Lift Before & After Case 71

This 55 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, expressed concern about the aging appearance of her eyes. Specifically, she was bothered by her redundant upper lid skin and puffiness of her lower lids. She acknowledged a tendency toward “dryness” of her eyes. Dr. Parker performed an upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. In an effort to avoid worsening of the patient’s “dry eye” symptoms, he removed fat through a transconjunctival approach, performed a lateral canthopexy for lid support, suspended the sagging obicularis oculi muscle and removed lax lower eyelid skin through a transcutaneous incision. Postoperatively, Dr. Parker prescribed liquid tears and night time lubrication to prevent dry eye symptoms. The patient healed well and experienced an improvement in her dry eye symptoms. She was very pleased with the more youthful appearance of her eyes. Recently she returned to Dr. Parker and 5 year postop follow up photos were obtained.
