Lip Lift Before & After Case 1392

This 56 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient and asked him to perform a lip lift. She wished to improve the shape of her upper lip as well as lift the vermilion. The patient had previously been treated elsewhere with repeated filler injections to her upper lip and subsequently, multiple injections of hyaluronidase to try to dissolve the filler with limited success. Prior to the procedure, Dr. Parker had the patient lift her lip to her desired height and measured with calipers the precise amount of skin to be removed. Then, under local anesthesia, Dr. Parker excised the marked “bull horn” shaped segment of skin and subcutaneous tissue for removal. This included not only the central lip but also lifting the oral commissure, or corners of the lip, on either side. He then carefully closed the incision with multiple layers of sutures to make the scar inconspicuous. The patient healed quickly and is very pleased with a much more youthful and natural appearance of her upper lip.
