Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1171

This 64 year old patient, referred to Dr. Parker by friends, was bothered by her puffy lower eyelids and the sagging skin on her neck which continues to worsen with age. The patient had a procedure on her neck by another plastic surgeon 10 years ago which did little to correct her lax skin. During the initial consultation, Dr. Parker discussed options for treatment with the patient. She did not want a full facelift; only the neck treated from the jawline downward. She did want her lower eyelids improved at the same time. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed a neck lift, removing scar tissue from the prior surgery, tightening the underlying platysma muscle, removing the lax skin and tightening the remaining skin. At the same time, he transferred herniated orbital fat in the lower eyelids to the nasojugal grooves, suspended the lax obicularis muscle laterally with sutures, tightened the lax lower eyelids with a canthopexy and conservatively removed some redundant lower eyelid skin. The patient is very happy with the rejuvenated appearance of her lower eyelids and neck.
