Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1251
Before & After
Case Details
This 30 year old patient complained of a longstanding fullness in her neck which lacked contour and a weak chin. The patient is 5'4" tall and weighs 140 pounds. After examining the patient, Dr. Parker explained to the patient that she had excess fat between her skin and platysma muscles (called "pre platysmal" fat) as well as additonal fat beneath her platysma muscles (called "subplatysmal fat) in her neck. He continued, that the "pre platysmal" fat could be treated with liposuction and the "subplatysmal" fat by direct excision through a small submental incision. A medial platysmaplasty would then be performed to tighten the medial platysma muscles. Because the patient had good skin tone, her skin would re drape to fit the new contour and skin removal would not be needed. In summary, the patient would have what Dr. Parker calls a "Minimal-Incision Neck Contouring" procedure, which could be performed under local anesthesia. At the same time, a chin implant could be inserted through the same incision to build out her chin and complement her improved jawline and neck. The patient loved the plan and wished to proceed. The surgery discussed by Dr. Parker was subsequently performed several weeks later under local anesthesia only. The patient said the procedure was easy, the recovery quick and painless. She is thrilled by the significantly improved appearance of her chin, jawline and neck; she says her self confidence is soaring.
