Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1526

This 47 year old patient was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient requesting improvement in her neck. She said she has always had fullness in her neck and had undergone liposuction by another plastic surgeon 6 years ago. She is not happy with those results. The patient says her weight is stable. During her consultation, Dr. Parker explained that she likely has deep seated fat beneath the medial platysma muscles in her neck. Dr. Parker recommended a Minimal-Incision Neck Contouring procedure. He explained further, that using only a short, well-concealed submental incision in the natural chin crease for access under local anesthesia, he would remove the excess fat from beneath the platysma muscles. He would then suture these muscles back together (called a "medial platysmaplasty"). Additional liposuction would be performed from a tiny access incision behind each ear to help contour the jawline and lateral neck, as well. The patient agreed and Dr. Parker subsequently performed this procedure several weeks later. The patient was comfortable throughout the procedure and was pleased with the relative ease of her recovery. She is very happy with the markedly improved contour of her neck and no visible scarring.
