Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1538

This 57 year old patient requested improvement in the appearance of her neck when she visited Dr. Parker during her consultation. She said her weight has always been steady at ~ 115 pounds, then drifted up to 135 pounds with menopause and has remained there. The patient would like her submental area and jawline more contoured as well as her neck skin tightened. Her mother has had several neck lifts trying to achieve those results. The patient says she eats healthy and works out, leading as healthy a lifestyle as her job will let her. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed a neck lift. Using a submental incision, he first performed a medial plastysmaplasty. He then used post-auricular incisions to perform a lateral platysmaplasty as well as remove the appropriate amount of excess neck skin using the incisions behind her ears. Dr. Parker carefully closed the incisions with multiple layers of absorbable sutures to give the best scars possible. The patient was very pleased with her recovery, the improvement in her neck contour she has achieved as well as the inconspicuous appearance of the scars behind her ears.
