Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1544
Before & After
Case Details
This 28 year old requested a stronger chin and cleaner neck prior to getting married next year. She says her neck has always been full as has her mother's. The patient said she had sustained mild recent weight loss, and her weight is now stable but neck unchanged. During the patient's consultation, Dr. Parker explained that patients like her with long standing fullness in their neck, along with a family history of that problem, commonly have deep seated fat beneath the medial platysma muscles. He said he has had a great success in performing a procedure he calls, “Minimal-Incision Neck Contouring”. He does this most often under local anesthesia only. Dr. Parker further explained that using a short, well-concealed submental incision in the natural chin crease, he removes the excess fat from beneath and between the platysma muscles. Next, he sutures the muscles back together (called a "medial platysmaplasty"). Finally, he performs liposuction of the lateral neck using tiny access incisions hidden behind her ears. He mentioned a chin implant could be inserted through the same incision at that time to give the patient the stronger chin she desired. The patient liked what she heard and several months later, Dr. Parker performed these procedures. The patient said she felt comfortable throughout the procedure and was pleased with the ease of her recovery. Recently, when trying on her wedding dress, the patient’s mother asked if the reason she was crying was her beautiful wedding dress. The patient responded, “I love this beautiful dress, but I love my beautiful neck I’ve been waiting my whole life for even more.”
