Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 143

This 25 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by several other patients, expressed concern about the appearance of her nose and lower eyelids. Specifically, the patient did not like the bump on her nose and her drooping nasal tip, which worsened when she smiled. She also asked to have the puffiness of her lower eyelids corrected. Dr. Parker performed a closed rhinoplasty, removing the bony-cartilaginous dorsal hump, performed infractures to appropriately narrow the nose, excised the depressor nasi septi muscles to prevent the tip from drooping when the patient smiled and slightly elevated the tip with sutures to create a more pleasing naso-labial angle. Regarding the patient’s lower eyelids, Dr. Parker performed a “scarless” procedure to rejuvenate them. He removed the patient’s herniated lower lid fat through transconjunctival incisions, then transferred this fat to the nasojugal grooves, or “tear troughs” to create better blending between the lower eyelids and cheek. Postoperatively, the patient recovered without pain as well as experienced minimal swelling and bruising. She is thrilled with the improved natural appearance of both her nose and eyes.
