Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 147
Before & After
Case Details
This 27 year old sought Dr. Parker’s help in addressing several issues regarding her nose which have bothered her for some time. Specifically, she did not like her dorsal hump and broad, drooping tip. She also had persistent breathing difficulties on both sides of her nose. During the patient’s initial consultation with Dr. Parker, he explained what he thought could be accomplished. He recommended an open rhinoplasty with reduction of the patient’s dorsal hump, re-shaping of her broad tip as well as elevating it into a more attractive position. He also suggested elevating her “hanging” columella and lowering the moderate alar rim retraction she had. Finally, a submucous resection was advised to remove the deviated septum along with partial inferior turbinectomies on both sides to improve her breathing difficulties. Computer imaging of these changes was reviewed with the patient at the same time. The patient agreed with this plan and the surgery was performed several months later by Dr. Parker. The patient noticed an improvement in the appearance of her nose when the splint was removed 1 week after surgery. Her breathing is much better as well.
