Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 1480
Before & After
Case Details
This 17 year old was referred to Dr Parker by another patient with concerns about the appearance of her nose. She was bothered by its crooked appearance, her dorsal hump and ill defined nasal tip which drooped with smiling. She and her parents asked Dr Parker to reduce her hump and give her a straight, not aquiline profile. They also asked him to be conservative in rotating his tip upward. Dr Parker reviewed the procedure of open rhinoplasty with them. He also suggested a chin implant be inserted at the same time to improve the aesthetic relationship between the patient’s new nose and chin. At surgery, Dr Parker performed an open rhinoplasty, doing the following: component bony-cartilaginous hump reduction, lateral osteotomies to close the “open roof” as well as help straighten her crooked nose, a tiplasty to refine her bulbous tip, and resected the depressor nasi septi muscles to keep her tip from drooping with smiling. Dr Parker also inserted a #2 anatomic chin implant to build out the chin. The patient said her recovery was easy. From the time her nasal splint was removed, the patient and her parents have loved the appearance of her nose and chin. They thanked Dr Parker listening to their desires and for doing exactly what they had asked him to do.
