Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 153
Before & After
Case Details
This 61 year old patient, presented concerns to Dr. Parker about the “twisted” appearance of her nose and her difficulty breathing through both sides of her nose. After examining the patient, Dr. Parker indicated that surgery to correct these problems would be somewhat complicated. After hearing Dr. Parker’s detailed description of the surgical plan, the patient said she wished to go forward. At surgery, Dr. Parker did the following: he reduced the bony cartilaginous dorsal hump and performed infractures on the nasal bones to appropriately narrow them, he performed a septoplasty to reposition the cartilaginous septum in the midline with sutures, he reduced the markedly enlarged inferior turbinates, and he reshaped the tip cartilage to create a stronger, yet more delicate appearing, nasal tip. All of this was done through an open rhinoplasty approach. The patient recovered quickly from the procedure, without pain and with very little bruising. From the moment her nasal splint was removed, the patient loved the appearance of her nose. Her breathing improved markedly after the procedure. She is very happy with her straighter, prettier nose as well as her ability to breathe normally.
