Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 175

This 17 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by an ENT surgeon, requested improvement in the appearance of her nose and help with her breathing problems. The patient had sustained significant blunt trauma to her nose twice while playing sports. She was bothered by her dorsal hump, broad nasal tip, and her difficulty breathing. Dr. Parker performed an open rhinoplasty, during which he reduced the bony cartilaginous dorsal hump, performed infractures to appropriately narrow the nose, and refined the broad tip by reducing the size of the tip cartilage as well as precisely inserting sutures in the remaining cartilage to create more tip definition. He also reduced the size of the inferior turbinates to correct the breathing problem. The patient enjoyed a relatively quick recovery. She is pleased with the improved appearance of her nose as well as her improved breathing.
