Abdominoplasty Before & After Case 641
Before & After
Case Details
This 58 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient. He requested improvement in the appearance of his chest, abdomen, and flanks. 15 years previously, he had tried using only liposuction to improve these areas with a different Doctor. The patient is 5′ 7″ and weighs 201 pounds. He works out everyday, feels he is in great shape, but cannot improve these problem areas. He said now he would like to consider other ways to make his breasts and abdomen firmer with more fat removed from his flanks. He claimed he wanted a “tune up”.
Dr. Parker reviewed treatment options with the patient at length. Regarding his breasts, Dr. Parker indicated that some fat could be removed. Due to the patient’s age and skin laxity, optimum treatment would require skin removal, such as a periareolar mastopexy. Regarding the patient’s abdomen, a good deal of the fullness he has is due to intra-abdominal fat that cannot be surgically removed. Dr. Parker told him that he could experience improvement with an abdominoplasty to tighten his rectus fascia and remove lax skin. The patient opted to have this combination of procedures performed for the best result. Dr. Parker removed 100 cc of fat from each breast and tightened the moderately lax skin with a periareolar mastopexy. He removed 225 cc of fat from each flank with VASER liposuction. Then he performed an abdominoplasty, tightening the rectus abdominus fascia and removing the relative lax skin. The patient recovered incredibly quickly without pain. He is very pleased with the appearance of his chest, abdomen and flanks.
