Male Breast Reduction Before & After Case 1295
Before & After
Case Details
This 58 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, requesting as he called it, a “tune up”. The patient asked for improvement in the appearance of his chest, abdomen, and flanks. Fifteen years ago, he had undergone liposuction in these areas by another plastic surgeon. The patient is 5′ 7″ and weighs 201 pounds. He works out everyday, feels he is in great shape, but cannot improve these problem areas. Dr. Parker reviewed treatment options with the patient at length. Regarding his breasts, Dr. Parker explained he could remove fatty tissue with liposuction but optimum treatment would require skin removal as well. Regarding the patient’s abdomen, Dr. Parker explained a significant amount of the fullness he has is due to intra-abdominal fat that cannot be surgically removed; this can only be improved with weight loss. Dr. Parker told the patient that he could experience some degree of improvement with an abdominoplasty to tighten his rectus fascia and remove lax skin. Liposuction of the patient’s flanks could be performed as well. The patient opted to have this combination of procedures performed. At surgery, Dr. Parker removed 100 cc of fat from each breast with SAFE liposuction, then performed a peri-areolar mastopexy to tighten his loose skin. Dr. Parker removed 225 cc of fat from each flank with SAFE liposuction. He then performed an abdominoplasty, tightening the rectus abdominus fascia and removing the lax skin. The patient recovered incredibly quickly without pain. He is very pleased with the appearance of his chest, abdomen and flanks.
