Otoplasty Before & After Case 236

This 28 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by his own physician, requested correction of his prominent ears. At the patient’s initial consultation with Dr. Parker, he explained the relevant anatomy of the patient’s ears, why looked the way they did and how he could correct them to look more natural. Several weeks later, under local anesthesia, Dr. Parker performed an otoplasty to re-shape the patient’s ears. Using inconspicuous incisions in the crease behind the ears, Dr. Parker created a normal antihelical fold with sutures, then slightly reduced the size of the concha and set it back into a normal position with additional sutures. The patient was very pleased with his result and rapid recovery from the procedure. He requested only pictures from the back be shown to avoid personal identification.
