Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 1270
Before & After
Case Details
This 35 year old requested improvement in the appearance of his nose. The patient had undergone a septoplasty for breathing obstruction elsewhere 5 years ago and was not sure what the surgeon had done to the outside of his nose. He asked Dr. Parker to reduce his dorsal hump, straighten his crooked nose, refine and lift his asymmetric nasal tip as well as improve the symmetry of his nostrils. Dr. Parker discussed, then subsequently performed a secondary open rhinoplasty to address these issues. At surgery, a component bony- cartilaginous hump reduction was performed along with lateral osteotomies and infractures to reduce the dorsal hump and help straighten the nose. Dr. Parker found significant scar tissue surrounding the patient’s distorted lateral crura, or nasal tip cartilage. To address this, Dr. Parker carved and inserted alloplastic rib cartilage as a septal extension graft as well as used it to carve lateral crural strut grafts. The patient said he appreciates Dr. Parker’s hard work with his complicated rhinoplasty. He is very pleased with the natural and much improved appearance of his nose.
