When we think about what we can do to look more youthful, we typically think first about our facial appearance. But when you greet a colleague, client, or friend? You shake hands. Hands that look and feel healthy and smooth can mean as much to your appearance as a youthful face. Dr. Parker offers hand rejuvenation with fat transfer in Paramus, NJ, for patients from Ridgewood, Hackensack, Mahwah, Somerset, and throughout Bergen County, North New Jersey, and surrounding areas.

As we grow older, the top of the hand, also known as the dorsum, shows its age more often than patients like. In particular, the skin develops wrinkles and “age spots”. The fatty layer beneath the skin loses volume. These changes can make a patient feel self-conscious about the aged appearance of their hands.
A hand lift procedure can achieve lasting improvements that look and feel completely natural. This procedure involves fat injections using fat harvested with tiny cannulas, usually from the abdomen, that is purified and then injected into the dorsum of the hands.

Your Hand Rejuvenation Consultation & Imaging Session
Consultations at the Parker Center are special. Dr. Parker will spend extra time with you, ensuring that he understands your goals and that you are fully educated about each potential solution. Additionally, our imaging expert will help you see the possibilities with digital photo imaging to show you what you will look like after surgery. Patients who are comparing providers often tell us our consults are the most thorough and informative they’ve ever experienced!
One to two weeks before your scheduled hand rejuvenation procedure, you will undergo a one-hour, in-office, face-to-face education session with one of Dr. Parker’s Nurse Educators. During this session, the nurse educator thoroughly reviews a detailed information packet to further educate you about your procedure. This includes a discussion of what to do to prepare for surgery, what occurs on the day of surgery, and what to expect after surgery during your recovery. It’s a detailed session that really educates our patients about the entire surgical process at the Parker Center. Patients tell us they love it because they feel so well-prepared for their surgery. Learn more about what to expect during your pre-op education session.
Hand Lift Surgery and Recovery
A hand lift is performed under local anesthesia or intravenous sedation in about one hour. Patients leave our facility shortly afterward and usually recover rapidly. There is very little postoperative pain. Light activities can be started within a day or two following surgery. All sutures dissolve. Within two to three weeks, our clinicians will have you apply special creams nightly for several weeks to remove the age spots, completing the hand rejuvenation.
